Here we are in 2008 and Jackson Browne is 60 years old this October. The cover of his latest record Time The Conqueror has a photo of him with a grey goatee. This is the first time I have seen Jackson actually display that time has taken some toll on his youthful appearance. The years of singing and touring and making political noise has taken no toll on his vocal chords. Jackson Browne sounds just as he did when he recorded Take It Easy all those years ago.

Jackson Browne Conquers Time at the Warner

Jackson Browne opened his Warner Theatre concert Monday night with a warm-up jog through the vast expanse of his catalogue, beginning with a trio of songs from the 1980s and 1990s before digging into a well-known warhorse, 1974's brilliantly bittersweet "Fountain of Sorrow."

That bit of backward-looking business officially out of the way, Browne turned to the real task at hand: previewing songs from his first studio album in six years, "Time the Conqueror," out next week.
