Jackson Browne Appearing at Byron Bay Bluesfest 2018

The Byron Bay Bluesfest showcases music from around the world annually on the Easter long weekend on 120 hectares at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just north of Byron Bay, NSW.

Bluesfest presents over 200 performances with up to 7 stages over 5, 12 hour days, as well as camping for up to 6,000 people, 5 licensed bars, over 100 food and market stalls, undercover food courts, beer gardens, and children’s entertainment.

Bluesfest presents the biggest names in music to Australian audiences each year including Bob Dylan, Hozier, Paul Simon, Gary Clark Jr., Angus & Julia Stone, Robert Plant, Alabama Shakes, John Mayer, Jurassic 5, James Brown, Zac Brown Band, Joss Stone, David Gray, Trombone Shorty, Angelique Kidjo, John Legend & BB King, to name but a few.

From a modest crowd of 6,000 when it began in 1990, Bluesfest now attracts an audience of over 100,000. It is regarded as the foremost destination festival in Australia & renowned for being a safe, fun, family-friendly event.

Jackson Browne Announces Benefit Concert To Support Seaside’s Martin Luther King, Jr Elementary School Of The Arts On Tuesday, November 14, 2017 At The Sunset Center

Singer songwriter Jackson Browne announces a benefit concert on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Sunset Center in Carmel, CA to support Seaside’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School of the Arts.

Accompanying Jackson Browne at the benefit concert is longtime band mate and multi-instrumentalist Greg Leisz. Showtime is 7:30 PM. Advance venue pre-sale tickets are available beginning Wednesday, October 11 at 9:30 AM, with general tickets on sale this Friday, October 13 at 9:30 AM PT at the Sunset Center SunsetCenter.org (password is “FORTHEKIDS”).

Located in Seaside, CA, Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School of the Arts (MLK School of the Arts) is a vibrant learning environment in a district with a strong commitment to arts education. MLK School of the Arts is part of Turnaround Arts, a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts that introduces a high-quality and integrated arts education to strengthen school reform efforts. Turnaround Arts was founded in 2011 under the Obama Administration of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH), a White House advisory committee on cultural issues. With support from Turnaround Arts, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District has more than doubled its music offerings, initiated an art and science DzEco Ambassadors program in the fifth grade, and hired a Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator to connect teaching artists and nonprofit arts organizations to its schools.

In 2015, MLK School for the Arts introduced music classes to all of its students and local teaching artists provided an additional 60 hours of arts instruction for the entire school. MLK School of the Arts has also partnered with The Arts Council of Monterey County, The San Jose Opera, the Carmel Music Society, the Sunset Center, and the Monterey Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival.
