Hall Benefit Concert in NYC on August 20 – Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle, Nanci Griffith

July 25, 2006
Beacon, NY - A concert to benefit John Hall in his campaign for US Congress will take place on August 20 at Town Hall in Manhattan.

Entitled “A Small Circle of Friends,” the evening fundraiser will feature a stellar lineup, which includes Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle, Nanci Griffith and other special guests.

“I am honored and deeply grateful to these incredible artists for generously committing their time and talents to my campaign,” said Hall, a renowned singer-songwriter and longtime activist-community leader who is in a race to represent New York's 19th Congressional District. “It's time to challenge the misguided policies of the Bush administration and restore checks and balances to our country.”

Legendary singer-songwriter Jackson Browne is anchoring the evening.  Browne, like Hall, is a lifelong activist who has always written songs about environmental, political and social changes in our country.  Hall, Browne, Bonnie Raitt and Graham Nash founded Musicians United for Safe Energy, and organized the No Nukes Concerts in 1979 to raise money and awareness for clean, renewable energy.

Rosanne Cash, daughter of country music immortal Johnny Cash, has had numerous country hits of her own and is nominated for two Americana Music Association awards this year. Steve Earle, a pioneering country rocker and presently a program host on the Air America radio network, performed recently at the Bonnaroo music festival.  Five-time Grammy Award winner Nanci Griffith has melded folk and country music into her own style, performing at world-famous venues including the Royal Albert Hall in London, Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.

Any one of the above-mentioned artists could headline a concert at Town Hall, but together they promise an acoustic collaboration not to be missed.

A limited number of VIP seats and passes to a post-concert reception at $250 and over will be available directly from the campaign at www.johnhallforcongress.com.  For more information on VIP tickets call Sara Pasti at (845) 831-0025.

All General ticket sales will be handled by phone only through Ticketmaster Charge-by-Phone: (212) 307-7171.
